Hi chefs,

How's life now that Top Chef is back in full swing? I'm sure eager fans are still pumped to hear the latest scoop about the chefs.

Speaking of TC, and TC fans, I was the guest chef for a great event up in the Napa Valley this past weekend. There was a very nice woman that I met there, who is a fan of the show, and has started a blog where she replicates the winning dishes each week and talks about them....it kind of made me think of Julie/Julia, but hopefully with less butter. ;-) Anyway, I thought this girl Sara was very nice and her blog looks interesting...thought it might be of interest to you and the fans, check it out The winningdish.

Take care,

Marisa (season 2

P.S. I will be competing on Food Network Challenge this Sunday night at 8pm, "Edible Cities." I build San Francisco out of Rice Crispies, chocolate and sugar. The show piece was 3 1/2 feet tall & 5 1/2 feet wide. It took 40#'s of Rice Crispies, over 50#'s of chocolate and 50#'s of sugar. It was crazy!!!! I haven't been able to even look at a rice crispy treat since then! It should be entertaining to watch.

Tuesday Takeout

OK, so I am very late with the Sunday Roast again. I decided to hand the Roast off this week to the HoInMo. I think she did a great job.

Padma Blows It At The Emmys

What was she thinking?!?!?

This is not the award Padma was hoping for on Sunday but today, she made the 2009 Emmys Fashion Losers list.

WonderWall.com wrote:

"Lakshmi en Rose: Padma Lakshmi and exquisite, effortless beauty go together like a "Top Chef" contestant and a so-so-tasting ceviche. But the statuesque stunner stumbles on the Emmys red carpet by garnishing her plum-tinted gown with a superfluous (and super-unbecoming) red rose wreath. Sadly, Padma would have also benefited from taking a paring knife to at least four of the straps adorning her décolletage and undoing the braided chocolate hair"

There has also been debate on the net that Padma has gained weight.

What do you think?

Top Chef Season 6 - Episode 5 Results

Another night of fun and Vegas heat.
( Bravo never thought to not film this during the hot months ?!?!)

Congratulations to Chef Michael for his cactus quick fire. We will let you make your own cactus jokes in the comment area below.

and to Chef Bryan for his desert elimination win. You are on a roll Bryan.
Here are a few comments from Chef Tom's blog regarding the challenge.

"First, let me digress and say that what I liked about this challenge was the chance to get off the strip. There’s a vast desert out there, and it was neat to see a whole different side of Vegas. What didn’t work? The heat. It was too hot to cook, too hot to eat … that heat was obnoxious. And while the idea of cooking over an open flame was nice in the abstract, in actuality the “fire pits” were propane, so they were no big deal to cook on. The other thing I didn’t like about the challenge was that it was too open-ended. The chefs were not asked to do anything food-wise that tied into their being on a ranch. Yes, it was a fun idea to have the chefs sleep and cook in the great outdoors, but as with the use of cactus in the Quickfire Challenge, I would have liked to have seen the challenge more closely connected on a food level with the life of the ranch. Interestingly enough, not one cheftestant cooked steak. I was so surprised by that."

Ah Mattin... Chef Biatch is not happy about this. We wish you the best and hope you drop by our little kitchen.

So fellow fans... what did you think?
