Casey said what?

I was reading the Top Chef message boards over at Bravo.com when I came across a post with a link to a story about Casey and her side of the story. Now, I wasn't happy with Casey but I felt Carla's failure to take control of her kitchen was her own fault. Its a flaw Carla needs to work on and I'm sure my girl will do just that.

Then I read what Casey had to say. This is the post written by Sarah Eveans for SideDish at D Magazine.

Casey speaks! And she doesn’t sound happy, folks. I asked her to comment on last night’s episode, and here’s what she had to say:

"Carla was not prepared and in over her head. The show did not talk about how the first course (crab) took her half of the friggin’ cooking time that day, I was left to work the rest of HER dishes.

She also did not have a plan. The ONLY thing she had in mind was a cheese course! I would NEVER do a cheese course. And where in the hell did french come from!? She is not even classically trained! It (the show) didn’t talk about how I worked on a sauce for 2 days and Carla forgot to put it on the plate… It didn’t show how the 2nd course (fish) was MINE. It didn’t show how she took the sous vide idea and decided to GRILL it last minute causing it to be tough… And it didn’t show how she WANTED to do the souffles which she does not even know how to make! That was HER food, because it certainly was me asking her how she wanted to do this and that while she was busy picking crab the entire time and making a souffle that didn’t rise!

I am done with TC. I did not influence her. She has NO ideas of her own, oh, except a cheese course."

I dunno, it comes off kinda mean girl-ish to me. What do you think?

I've got a question...

What was more surprising?
Carla actually blowing her chance to win by listening to Casey?
Stefan's reaction to Carla's tears?
Hosea being mediorce all season and actually pulling off the win?
Gail's ginormous boobs seeming to be even more ginormous then usual?

Sunday Roast

Sorry there was no Roast last week. Do you know how hard it is to try to do a Roast when you couldn't care less about an episode? No, that's not correct, I did like the episode but I hated the fact that Leah stayed another week. In a perfect world, Leah would have left last week and Hosea this week.

Also, my PhotoShopper, the HoInMo, was having computer problems again so that meant I would have to depend on my razer sharp wit to get the Roast going. Well, this week, the HoInMo is in the hospital. That bitch will do anything to get out of doing PhotoShop for me! Get well sis, my wit is as sharp as Toby`s so I need your help.

And to top things off, Bravo has reworked their website and I can no longer snag pics from them. Since I tend to wait until the last possible minute to do the Roast, this leaves little time for my blog partner to try and rescue my lazy ass.

Combine all these things and you get no Roast.

Look at my girl work it. No joke here, go Carla!

The pissing contest went something like this...

Tom: " You've heard I'm a Bear icon, right?"

Jacques: "I`m JacquesMotherFuckingPepin."

Jacques won.

The Apostles gazed upon the table and thought "Holy shit! Is that really Jacques and Lidia?"

Is it me or does Jacques look drunk and Fabio looks like he is trying to talk the bottle away from him?

Fabio: "Comma ona, Jacques, you'va hada enougha."

Jacques: "I'm JacquesMotherFuckingPepin and I was cooking before you were a twinkle in your daddy's eye!"

Leah:"Top Pussy? Where do I go to try out for that show?"

Fabio: "Blessa youra lil hooker hearta."

The Leah Slayers rejoice!

Yall`s turn.

Your Turn To Vote

WOW!!! We have fun providing polls for you and we see, by the results each week, that many of you enjoy participating. But last weeks poll was by far the biggest turn out of votes that we have had on one poll.

The vote was in regards to the new judge Toby Young and if Top Chef should keep him or bring back Gail or Ted or ask Chef Bourdain or Chef Harold to join.

With 593 votes... Chef Anthony Bourdain had 238 votes to join Top Chef.

To bring Gail back had 213 votes. To bring back Ted had 80 votes. To ask Chef Harold to join had 34 votes but to keep Toby only had 28 votes. WOW!! Looks like we, the fans, are not big fans of Toby.

Onto this weeks vote. The Quick Fire challenge involved eggs so our question is, Which Eggs Would You Like To Taste?

Chef Fan Trish The Dish On Last Weeks Show

Sorry, we fell asleep at the wheel of the blog and did not get this up sooner. Our own field reporter from New York and fellow TC fan Trish gives us the good, bad and ugly of last weeks show.

Good

Eric Ripert! My boyfriend says it's not a season without him!

Lunch in the private room at LeBernardin?? Love that! (and the sunflowers on the table - my favorite!)

"This is what I want to be when I grow up - one of his dishes!"

Best line goes to Carla! I thought it was a good idea that Chef Ripert visited the kitchen and sampled the dishes. I think it was really fair for him to at least give his input on his prize dishes!

Bad

Some of those hack jobs on the sardines - yuck!

Leah giving up on the quickfire after having one of the best sardines (and the pout that went with it!)

Jamie is bored with Chef Ripert's food??? (Good - she got the black bass dish that she was just dissing! LOL)

Ugly

The eel! I would have screamed having to touch that thing!

Jamie's "salt lick" celery! Yikes Tom!

As disappointed as I was to see Jamie go, she really did seem to be beat down by that time. The critique of her dish (I thought) was extra harsh (Padma said she would have sent it back.)

What was that silly "quick fire" that they had at the house with Hosea licking the plate??

Breaking news at the Futon Critic.

BRAVO ANNOUNCES "TOP CHEF MASTERS" HOST AND JUDGES
Released by Bravo

BRAVO ANNOUNCES "TOP CHEF MASTERS" HOST AND JUDGES

Food Journalist Kelly Choi To Host; Renowned Restaurant Critic Gael Green, Food Critic Jay Rayner And Culinary Expert James Oseland To Judge

World-Renowned Chefs Compete For Charity Of Their Choice

NEW YORK February 11, 2009 As previously announced and on the heels of the highest rated season yet for the Emmy and James Beard Award-winning No. 1 food show on cable, "Top Chef," comes the spin-off "Top Chef Masters," produced by the Magical Elves with consulting producer Tom Colicchio. Food journalist Kelly Choi will serve as the series' host, and renowned restaurant critic Gael Green, culinary expert James Oseland and food critic Jay Rayner will serve as judges. The show will feature 24 world-renowned chefs competing against each other in a series of weekly challenges, as only one chef will make it to the finals to compete for the title of "Top Chef Master" and a prize for the charity of their choice.

"Top Chef lovers rejoice, Bravo and the Magical Elves are teaming up again to bring more of what our fans love most, fabulous food and tasty competition and this time we're adding world-renowned chefs competing against each other to the menu," said Frances Berwick, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Bravo Media.

Kelly Choi, food journalist and creator, producer and host of NYC TV's weekly restaurant show, "Eat Out NY," will host this highly competitive spin-off uniting some of the brightest stars in the world of food, showcasing the often cutthroat world of the culinary arts. A former model, Choi recently finished her book called "The 20 Most Delicious Dishes in New York," which is set to hit stores in spring of 2009.

Joining the judges' panel is Gael Green, New York Magazine's famed restaurant critic for over 40 years, a best-selling author and co-founder of Citymeals-on-Wheels, which provides food to the homebound elderly. Along with Green is James Oseland, culinary expert and Editor-in-Chief of Saveur magazine, and British journalist, writer and broadcaster Jay Rayner, who will also serve as regular judges for the series.

Each episode of "Top Chef Masters" holds two challenges for the chefs. The first is a twist on the classic quickfire challenge which tests their basic abilities and the second is a more involved elimination challenge designed to test the versatility and invention of the chefs as they take on unique culinary trials such as working with unusual and exotic foods or catering for a range of demanding clients. The food will be tasted and evaluated by the judges and a wide range of tasters for whom the challenge is aimed, whether it is patrons at a five-star restaurant or a room full of hungry kids the food has to appeal to the diner as well as the critics if the chef is to survive.

"Top Chef Masters" is produced by the Emmy-nominated Magical Elves. Dan Cutforth, Jane Lipsitz and Shauna Minoprio serve as executive producers. "Top Chef" head judge, renowned culinary figure and chef/owner Craft Restaurants, Tom Colicchio serves as consulting producer.

Bravo is a program service of NBC Universal Cable Entertainment, a division of NBC Universal, one of the world's leading media and entertainment companies in the development, production, and marketing of entertainment, news, and information to a global audience.
