Ah... our Chefs are out and about!
Ron Duprat, executive chef at the Hollywood Beach Marriott and a Top Chef Season 6: Las Vegas contestant, does a cooking demonstration at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Whole Foods Market Lifestyle Center, 2000 N. Federal Hwy., Fort Lauderdale, to benefit Florida Introduces Physical Activity and Nutrition to Youth. Cost is $25; reserve at 954-565-4138.
The "Michelle Melt" at Good Stuff Eatery was unveiled Thursday by chef Spike Mendelsohn, a former contestant on Bravo's "Top Chef" competition. Chef Fabio creates an unbelievably delicious tasting menu for audience members on Saturday, November 21, 2009. Tickets are $45 for VIP table seats with tasting menu included, and $25 for general seating. There will be two shows at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. in the casino's convention center. As an added bonus, the VIP table seat tickets will include a three course tasting menu and a glass of wine especially pared for the menu by Chef Viviani for guests to enjoy. The bummer is I'd LOVE to take my 9yo daughter, who worshipped Fabio...but it's a casino, so you have to be 21. To attend a tasting menu. Bah.
