I would like to see Chef Casey with Chef Tre and Chef CJ. Would love to see Tre cook again and for the two Texas chefs to take the win. Good luck to all three.
Why not design the Finals challenge to reflect what a Top Chef actually does?
Give them a half-dozen recent Culinary School Grads to interview, select, train, and prepare. Or 6 up-from-the-line Sous Chefs they don't know personally.
Even from a crass Bravoish standpoint, it would be better.
I don't think there are any recently pykagged Cheftestants that the viewers just can't get enough of.
The remaining chefs would be foolish not to choose Tre. But I actually think Howie would be a good asset, too. Because this is the finale, and he's no longer in the competition, his "teamwork" abilities wouldn't be an issue -- he's not trying to save his own skin. So I say, bring back Tre and Howie as sous chefs!
Tre, Howie, Lia, and Sara M would all be great assets. I would keep my distance from Sara N, CJ, Clay, Micah, and possibly Brian. I'm not sure how Sandee, Joey, or Camille would work out, but I'd be wary of Joey.
You didn't ask who the Top Chef "should" be, you asked who it "would" be. That's quite a difference! It *should* be Hung, but I didn't vote because of the way you phrased it.
I agree with Mother Hubbard. Tre, Howie, Lia, and Sara M would all make great sous chefs. And I like Artfulsub's idea. Now, call me crazy, but I'd love to see Marcel as Hung's sous chef. That would be an interesting pairing.
As I've said elsewhere, I hope they draw knives and eliminate all the clique crap.
Of course with Hung's luck, he'd get CJ and Malarkey.
The final challenge should be an interesting affair to watch.
Concerning the "issue" of whom should win can only be assessed by one's opinion of what real teamwork is composed of. Is this a contest? Absolutely. However, since one can only properly lead by example, one must examine the real possibility that Hung is not a true leader (in or out of the kitchen). A true leader would have assisted others even though it might mean his/her own demise.
They should have just made it 2 hours to give us time to see what everyone was actually doing.
Hung keeps mouthing off incoherently that he is a team player. ??????????? The only reason he refers to this positive trait is that he sorely lacks the aforementioned.
