i'm going to say congratulations to the finale two, out of politness.
But I won't be watching.
Looks on preview that Marcel has Sam and Cliff help, looks like Ilan has Elia and maybe Betty yuck! WHy bring those two back on, now I don't know if I'll be watching if those 2 bitches are on, thought we got rid of them!!STINKS!!!!
Oh I meant Mike not Cliff I like MIke
Remember last season in the finale when they put Dave with Tiffany? It would have been just a wee bit more interesting if they'd put Betty with Marcel for the finale.
Sorry... couldn't resist that one! : )
Actually, I think having the former contestants come on to help the finale two is a brilliant move. Gives the formers the opportunity to do 1 of 2 things. They can be professionals and help the final contestants win, or they can give them the performance of working under someone they don't respect.
I won't put either reaction down.
Let's hope it is all about the food. If so, it will be fun to see what both remaining chefs can create. No doubt Sam can be an asset as long as he stays professional and leaves his ego at the kitchen door. I feel that he, Carlos and Marcel showed they had the most working knowledge of food during the competition. Mike knows how to prepare and cook for sure; all he needs is direction as to what. Marcel has a good chance to win with those two helping. He is probably better then he has shown up to this point in the challenge.
I don't think Betty can be a team player; her ego will get in the way. Her driver personality traits could get in the way of Ilan's goals. She appears good at what she does but she always appears to always have a need to be in complete control regardless of the outcome. Elia, to me, is capable but seems to have a hard time staying focused; very book smart, just not able to foresee real-time, hands-on problems and overcome them. With what Bravo is letting us see in the preview, I think Marcel has the edge for now. We'll see. I'd like to be able to see, smell and taste the food. Maybe they should have all the Iron Chefs as judges! Be fun to see Bobby Flay show up for a "Throw down" wouldn't it? LOL :)!
If Marcel wins, it will be because of Sam. Everyone knows Sam is a much better chef and leader than Marcel. Sam will take the lead and pull out a win for him. Sam will be the one to direct Mikey and keep him in line - NOT Marcel. Mikey respects Sam and will follow him. He won't for Marcel.
Marcel got lucky. It should have been Sam in the finale - NOT Marcel. But at least we'll get to see Sam in action again. I bet he'll end up making the winning dish too.
I don't know if I even hav the patience to watch the finale. Marcel is obviously doomed from the start. He has Mike who can't cook and of course Sam hates Marcel to. Betty's voice is soooooooooooooo annoying.....and I think it is so sad that Elia went to the dark side. It wasnice to have at least one person nicve to Marcel. I am so over TC. The finale would be good if it were Marcel alone versus Ilan alone. With the other people involved the outcome is obvious.
The show I really liked was the one with Eric Ripert because Eric lends such amazing credibility to the show. THis finally totally going to suck!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't wathc TV to be annoyed....and this fianle is going to be very annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, that took me by suprise.
So rather than work with the person who he gets along with better (Ilan), Sam chooses Marcel because he thinks he can learn from the experience.
Again, Sam, you are a professional chef.
Reality show producers dont leave things up for chance. It's obvious Sam said he wanted to work for Marcel because if everyone says they want to work for Marcel, it will be perceived to be an uneven playing field. Sam did not want to take orders from Marcel.
bravo should have given marcel the option of doing everything on his own. he might be better off.
What happened to Frank and Mia? Did they end up working on either team or did they just disappear? I don't recall seeing either of them during the food shopping scenes...
i believe that marcel selected to work with sam and mikey. both marcel and ilan could only pick two chefs to help them.
anyone see this: (from the new york post) sorry if this is a repost....btw, i hope marcel kicks ilan's butt in the finale.
January 23, 2007 -- VYING for the title of TV's "Top Chef" can be hazardous to your health. Just ask Marcel Vigneron, who ended up with a big scar over his left eye. "This girl came up to me at a nightclub and asked me if I was Marcel from 'Top Chef,' " Vigneron, 26, tells Las Vegas Weekly. "The next thing I knew, this bottle struck me, and my friends had to rush me to the hospital. I needed 30 stitches." Not that Vigneron, who's down to the wire against three other culinary whizzes in the Bravo series, isn't used to being skewered. He's routinely trashed by fans on message boards. In one episode, he says he was thrown to the floor and held down by rival chef Cliff Crooks, while another cook, Sam Talbot, tried to shave his head and Ilan Hall tried to videotape the act. "I don't believe violence solves anything," he told the Vegas paper. "But when I broke free from them, I saw this lamp and I just wanted to smash it over one of their heads . . . I mean, pinning me down to shave my head, that's what drunken frat boys do, not a top chef."
um, btw....sam didn't cook for the semi-final. just wanted to remind you sam fans of that - and hence, the reason he was booted.
yep, i did read that. although it might have been posted on another blog. i'm not sure.
it's sad that a fan of the show would actually physically harm someone. yes, i'm a marcel fan. however, i wouldn't wish it on frank or even ilan. i watched andy's show, both tom and sam felt bad for marcel. i hope that marcel has that person's name. they should at least pay for his medical bills.
Go to this site to read about the gal that took a bottle to Marcel's head; thirty stiches! There's an interview with him also.

That info about Marcel being attacked has been all over the place.
What the hell is wrong with people?
Even on the message boards it's out of control. Ok, I wasn't happy my fav didn't win. But to call the other contestants vulgar names? Holy crap.
Marcel wasn't my pick for the finale, and his style of cooking might not be one I'd want to partake in, but he's a fine chef.
It's appalling that happened to him and makes Top Chef fans look like lunatics.
I Enjoyed seeing what the chefs could come up with, but the behavior of some was just disgusting. You can compete and still act like a civil person.
Couldn't stand Padma. Everyone I speak to about the show feels the same about her annoying demenor and voice. My daughter muted the sound when she spoke.
Oh darn, typo. *demeanor*
