To send Mikey home for not buying wine glasses? Absurd. They told him not to cuz they decided against wine,(not enough $$). It didn't even come up at judges table cuz Mikey's not a "bus driver". That has to be the lamest excuse in both seasons combined for an elimination. Maybe they found out from the producers that Sam helped him prepare his winning dish last week. Mike confessed to that. So did Sam. I would definitely let him go for that. They did imply that tonight at JT. And I wonder why Sam didn't pick Cliff to be on his team? Maybe he thought Marcel wouldn't snatch him up. Marcel should've picked Mikey instead of Crooks, our wonderful team player.

Gail made me really miss Ted Allen!!! It seems, aside from Padma, even the judges are surly this season.
So Mike goes...not a big surprise as I don't think in the sum total he is a Top Chef. He turned out to be a nice guy, but not a culinary front runner. I am wondering about the judges comments re: attidudes. Is this meaning the chefs are sliding by to not lose or is this the pervasive nastiness that is so apparent??? The next show is a big one and I, for one, will not be disappointed to see Sam, Cliff or Ilan go at this point.

Mikey thought he was coasting. The wrong person got auf'd though. Cliff's performance was piss poor. Mikey's was only poor. The dude shoulda stayed for one more competition.

With Mike gone, I have no one to cheer for. I don't care who wins at this point; one of the schoolyard bullies (Sam, Cliff or Ilan), the social/office bully (Marcel) or the whinner (Elia). Mike might not have all the skills to be a Top Chef in the Harold mold, but I would work for him before I would any of the others.

Sam made an un-eatable dessert and Cliff screwed up his job.

Mike was eliminated because Colicchio never liked him. If last week didnt prove Mike is a hard worker nothing does.

I would also like to address the issue of team challenges.

2 Man challenges are ok, but every group team created disasters this year. Thanksgiving, holiday and this last one were all disasters.

The whole purpose of team contests seems to be to eliminate who they want without any trouble, not that the producers would be consulted.

Ever look at a top chef roster...there are like 30 producers of one kind or another.
