We Never Know Who Might Drop By The Kitchen.

Since our own Sous Chef Humor has her side of this kitchen in California, she was able to invite the South Pasadena Fire Department into the kitchen and chat with them for a few moments.

Us: Thank you for taking a few moments to speak with us about your experience on Top Chef.

SPFD: Our pleasure.

Us: First, how was your station selected to be on the show?

SPFD: We were contacted by one of the scouts for the show. We have had a few other shows filmed here as well.

Us: Did you enjoy the experience?

SPFD: We enjoyed it very much. It was a long day and the chefs worked very hard.

Us: Yes, in viewing the show it looked like it went into the evening. We see that some of the chefs began with sunglasses on and then later it was darker in the firehouse.

SPFD: Yes it did go into the evening and took several hours.

Us: Were there any particular dishes you enjoyed the most?

SPFD: We enjoyed most dishes. There were a few that we did not but overall we enjoyed them.

Us: Would you do it again if asked?

SPFD: Oh yes, we would do it again.

It was Sous Chef Humor decision to ask the following questions. The SPFD did not bring this topic up but were more than happy to talk about it… and we are glad they did.

Us: Thank you so much for taking the time to talk with us about the show and your experience. Is there a charity group that you would like for us to mention that people can support?

SPFD: Oh yes, this time of year we support the “Toys for Tots”. Here in California we also support the “Spark for Love Toy Drive ” along with channel KABC7.

Us: Our blog is being read nationwide, any other charities that people can support?

SPFD: Yes, we would encourage people to support their local burn centers or burn foundation. These are very important.

On a personal note: I asked the SPFD if I could include the following in this post along with their interview and they were more than happy that the following be included.
I live in the community that lost 5 outstanding firefighters in last weeks California fire. A fund to support the families of these fallen hero’s has been set up. If you are interested, donations may be sent to:
Esperanza Firefighters Assistance Fund

P.O. Box 1645

Riverside, CA 92502-1645

Us: Thank you so much for stopping by our kitchen. Here is our kitchen address.

SPFD: Thanks. We will check you out.

If you would like to leave comments for the members of the SPFD, they are reading.

Love me some firefighters! 20 years ago, my house caught fire at the beginning of "Fire Prevention Week". My local firemen were at my house in less than 2 minutes after getting the call. Way to go Chef Humor!

Big thanks to all firefighters for their hard work!

And thanks to the SPFD for volunteering to be guineapigs for Top Chef. I'm so glad most of the food was edible.
