Has this site shut down?

8:26 AM

Blogger Blogging Top Chef said...

No, this site hasn't shut down, its just suffering from lazy-blogger-itis.

My blog partner, Sous Chef Humor, started a new job which requires a great deal of her time so she is no longer available to blog as often as she used to.

I, chef biatch, while in the middle of a house remodel and move, have become incredibly lazy.

I did recruit guest bloggers then left them high and dry. Responsible, eh?

Sorry for bailing on all the TC fans but I promise to try and pick up the pace. If nothing else, Wednesdays live chat will still be on.

Thanks for sticking with the blog and once again, sorry for the let down.

Desserts No: Since we're in D.C., the chefs are challenged with a great American tradition but some chefs are a bit freaked out.

Sorry for not getting the Mix up sooner. Thanks to the many thunderstorms in the Midwest, our power, the internet, and/or Direct TV have been wonky for days. Just in case it acts up again, chat will be open at its regular 7:30 CST on Wednesday but I may or may not be there, depending on the weather.

Ilan Hall has procreated. Sign of the Apocalypse? You decide.

Personally, I liked Ilan during his season on TC and if my beloved Sam couldn't win, I'm so glad Ilan did. I still like the kid so congratulations to Ilan and Ayame.

Read all about it here at Slashfood.com.

Thanks Janelle

Anthony Bourdain - New Book

He has done it again. Anthony has a new book.

From ABEBOOKS.com

In the ten years since his classic Kitchen Confidential first alerted us to the idiosyncrasies and lurking perils of eating out, from Monday fish to the breadbasket conspiracy, much has changed for the subculture of chefs and cooks, for the restaurant business—and for Anthony Bourdain.

Medium Raw explores these changes, moving back and forth from the author's bad old days to the present. Tracking his own strange and unexpected voyage from journeyman cook to globe-traveling professional eater and drinker, and even to fatherhood, Bourdain takes no prisoners as he dissects what he's seen, pausing along the way for a series of confessions, rants, investigations, and interrogations of some of the most controversial figures in food.

Beginning with a secret and highly illegal after-hours gathering of powerful chefs that he compares to a mafia summit, Bourdain pulls back the curtain—but never pulls his punches—on the modern gastronomical revolution, as only he can. Cutting right to the bone, Bourdain sets his sights on some of the biggest names in the foodie world, including David Chang, the young superstar chef who has radicalized the fine-dining landscape; the revered Alice Waters, whom he treats with unapologetic frankness; the Top Chef winners and losers; and many more.

And always he returns to the question Why cook? Or the more difficult Why cook well? Medium Raw is the deliciously funny and shockingly delectable journey to those answers, sure to delight philistines and gourmands alike.

Kenny is a bad mother...Shut your mouth!

Kenny
Who's the black private chef
that's a sex machine to all the B.O.H?
(Kenny!)
You're damn right
Who is the chef
that would risk his mise en place for his brother chef?
(Kenny!)
Can ya chop it?
Who's the chef that won't chop out
when there's flavor all about
(Kenny!)
Right on
You see this chef Kenny is a bad mother-
(Shut your mouth)
But I'm talkin' about Kenny
(Then we can chop it)
He's a complicated chef
but no one understands him but his sous chef
.

If these lyrics offend you, blame the late, great Issac Hayes. If my changes offend you, too bad. Chuc, TY for the idea.
